I wanted to upgrade my Dell Dimension E520 CPU.
I currently use an Intel Pentium D 930, 3.00GHz, Socket 775 LGA, 65 nm.
I purchased the Intel Core 2 Duo EGHz 6M L2 Cache 1333MHz LGA775 processor after doing a little bit of research.
Questions and answers found on this very site said the E520 could support this processor.
However, after installing it...my computer power light turns solid orange and the fans run...but nothing else.
Can someone please assist me with this?

The Wolfdale.Core 2 Duo EGHz 6M L2 Cache 1333MHz, is not supported by the Dimension e520.
You could try checking that the BIOS version 2.4.0 is installed, when support for new processors was added, but I doubt it will make any difference.
The fastest CPUs processors supported are& -Conroe EG, 4MB, 1066FSB, B2Conroe EG, 4MB, 1066FSB, B2
The Wolfdale series was released after the e520 EOL.
