文章说，8月11日，中国人民银行宣布人民币贬值1.85％，创下20多年来的最大单日跌幅，令市场震惊。自那时起，人民币兑美元汇率中间价已经下跌了3％。该地区一些货币也持续贬值至本周，引发了人们对于亚洲爆发货币战争的担忧。在过去一周里，新加坡元贬值1.75％，韩元贬值1.67％，而泰铢兑美元汇率也下跌了1.26％。不过，林浩文认为，在人民币进一步贬值之前，中国超高净值投资者将作出在全球门户城市购买海外房地产的决定。他说：“由于人民币无论如何都肯定会贬值，中国的富人很可能要么把存款换成其他货币，要么在其他高收益市场购买海外房地产，以对冲风险。”林浩文说，由于担心货币贬值，一家中国公司刚刚在悉尼()以3亿澳元的价格买下了一块地。英国第一太平戴维斯集团亚太房地产资本市场高级主管弗兰克·马里奥特预计，中国大陆人的海外房地产投资今年将超过200亿美元（约合1278亿人民币）。根据美国真实资本分析公司的数据，此前中国海外房地产投资额的最高点是2013年的近160亿美元。马里奥特说：“即使人民币变得越来越没有吸引力，关键还是在于，澳大利亚等其他国家的收益要比国内更吸引人。”他认为，随着中国机构投资者、开发商乃至小型投资者寻求资产多元化，中国投资海外房地产的热情依然高涨。2008年，香港商人邓子健（音）选择在深圳退休。日本低房价的诱惑促使邓子健在今年年中买下了他在日本的第一套房产。为进一步投资日本市场，邓子健决定退出中国大陆楼市，在今年以820万元的价格卖掉了他在深圳5套公寓中的4套。现在他已投资880万港币（约合725万元人民币），在日本购买了两套公寓和一套住宅。项目45分钟车程覆盖机场及休斯顿主城核心区域，同时靠近大型的城市办公区、百货商场、体育馆。项目拥有指定学区，学区内有多所中小学，教育资源丰富。
