Desiigner原名SidneyRoyel Selby III，是来自美国的歌手、作词家、饶舌歌手、厂牌制作人以及演员。他的爷爷是著名布鲁斯音乐人Sidney "Guitar Crusher" Selby。从《Panda》《Tiimmy Turner》到《MIC Drop》，Desiigner每次出手都造成惊人的网络效应。从千禧年到Z世代，他是互联网世代表情包里必存的Meme之王；他更是freestyle听得你目瞪口呆惊世骇俗的“机关枪”rapper！

Desiignerrose to prominence in 2016 after the release of his debut single"Panda", which reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. InFebruary 2016, rapper and producer Kanye West (who sampled "Panda"for his seventh album The Life of Pablo), announced Desiigner's signing to hisGOOD Music imprint, under the aegis of Def Jam Recordings.
SidneyRoyel Selby III, better known by his stage name Desiigner, is an Americansinger, songwriter, rapper, record producer, record executive and actor. Selbyis the grandson of blues musician Sidney "Guitar Crusher" Selby. Hebegan practicing vocals at school choir and church. At the age of 14, afterbeing shot, he embarked on his music career.
OnDecember, 2015, Desiigner released his commercial debut single, titled"Panda" on SoundCloud, and later on iTunes. The song was re-releasedon February 2016. The song won Whatup TVAfrica Music Video Awards, BillboardTop Streaming song, Billboard Top Rap song. On February 11, 2016, Desiignersigned a recording contract with Kanye West's GOOD Music imprint, under theaegis of Def Jam Recordings.
Aftersigning a record deal, Desiigner subsequently appeared on two tracks —"Pt. 2" (which features an interpolation of "Panda") and"Freestyle 4" — that was taken from Kanye West's seventh album TheLife of Pablo. Desiigner then went on to perform at the 2016's South bySouthwest (SXSW) music festival.
OnMay 5, 2016, producer Mike Dean announced that he would be serving as theexecutive producer for Desiigner's upcoming debut studio album. In June 2016,XXL magazine revealed their annual "Freshmen Class" for 2016, andDesiigner was included on the list with nine other new artists.
InJune 2016, "Champions" was released as the lead single from the GOODMusic's upcoming compilation album, Cruel Winter. Desiigner made a guestappearance on this track, alongside his label-mate Kanye West, and otherrappers such as Gucci Mane, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, Yo Gotti andQuavo.
OnJune 26, 2016, Desiigner released his first full-length mixtape, titled New English on Tidal, following a livepremiere of the mixtape on June 22. In July 2016, American pop singer DemiLovato brought out Desiigner at her concert in New York. On July 21, 2016,Desiigner premiered the track, called "TiimmyTurner", which was releasedas a single on iTunes the next day.
Desiignerappeared as a special guest on the Netflix series Bill Nye Saves the World. OnNovember 7, 2017 it was reported that Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) will release aremix of their song "Mic Drop" featuring Desiigner and it was saidthat the remix was made by Steve Aoki. It is set to be released on November 17,2017 but it was postponed and set to be released on November 24, 2017 instead.
