谈起《拳皇97》，恐怕80、90后这一代人都略有所知。就算没有玩过这个游戏的人，也会在COSPLAY、动漫等不同领域知道这个名字。在《拳皇》系列中，《拳皇97》的故事一直被人们奉为经典，而《拳皇97OL》也是将原本剧情做到了完整的还原。下面就让我们通过一张图来了解一下《拳皇97》中人物之间的情感纠葛。

在很多人看来，《拳皇97》是八神庵彻底超越草薙京成为《拳皇》&首席代言人&的一代。但是草薙京作为官方指定的男主角，我们还是要给这位万年留级生一点面子，毕竟人家是《拳皇》系列的头牌之一。那么，就让我们从草薙京开始讲述《拳皇97》的人物关系吧。
身为少数几位原创人物的草薙京，被打造成了帅气、阳光的形象，并且是&流弊轰轰&的草薙一族后裔(用现在的话说就是超级高富帅+官二代)，从小天赋异禀学会操纵火焰，封印大蛇是其家族的使命之一。不过万年留级生的设定着实尴尬，也是一直让很多人想不明白的地方。(难道万年留级生是成为主角的必要条件之一吗?柯南也是如此...)

而和草薙京密切相关的人，几乎包含了《拳皇97》中的所有主角，其死敌八神庵在下面会有详细的描述，而神乐千鹤作为三神器家族后裔中的唯一女性，起到中和草薙京、八神庵仇恨的作用，同时更要肩负着封印大蛇的使命。作为草薙京队友的二阶与大门五郎，坦白来讲就是SNK设计出来衬托草薙京主角光环的(四肢发达头脑简单的大门，娘炮喜爱紧身衣的二阶，怎么看也都是作为绿叶的存在。)而像草薙京这种阳光帅气的高富帅怎么能没有个女朋友?所以小雪这个人物也作为碧绿的绿叶衬托着草薙京。至于矢吹真吾的出现，个人感觉是他的存在更多是SNK想要塑造一个草根英雄。也许SNK当初的设计思路是想创造出一个靠自己勤勉学习，最终成为人生赢家，上任CEO赢取白富美的人物。(在寸土寸金的开场动画中，矢吹真吾的镜头甚至超过同时期的三天王和97特别队，选人画面中和八神庵 并列的地位，说明了SNK对这个小子给予的厚望。)
提起草薙京，就不能不提到八神庵这个人物。原本SNK想要将其设定为草薙京弟弟的定位，但后来又觉得也许设定为仇人会更有意思。(感谢这个设定，才能让他们二人的经典故事延续至今)不知有多少少女以他们二人&我爱你/我恨你&为题材，孜孜不倦的幻想着八神与草薙京的情感纠葛。
