Windows 7: BEX error
I've just bought a new computer with windows 7 64 bit preinstalled. I decided to test out its specs by loading some games on it and the installation ran fine, but when initialising the game from the launcher, an error message pops up, saying the program has stopped working and has to close.
There is an option to close the program and search online for a solution but that never actually starts up.
The problem event name is BEX (?) and this problem has so far occurred with Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect and once even for internet explorer 8.
I've run all the games in compatibility mode set for XP service pack 3, but the problem still occurs. Ive checked the compatibility of the games on some lists, and the games check out fine.
I've reinstalled windows thinking it was a dodgy install, but that didnt help either.
Interestingly, Oblivion and Fallout 3 will run if I dont run the Launcher program and go straight for the game exe.
I'm at a complete loss as to what could be causing my problems and I was hoping someone could come along and fix the whole thing. Please?

Unfortunately, even the best of the best have to look up information on many problems to troubleshoot them. (I know because they told me once.) So, no need waiting on others to help you out.
In under 20 seconds, I found at least 4 or 5 possible causes.

Anyway, I managed to dig up this somewhere:
Buffer overflow is a condition when some process tries to store data
beyond the capacity of the fixed/available buffer so it tries to
overwrite some other memory locations, too. And in Windows we have some
security feature called Data Execution Prevention that is intended to
prevent similar processes to prevent buffer overflow attacks (that can
introduce some malicious codes). But in some cases DEP can prevent some
legitimate software from executing, too. And then you can get a BEX
It is also suggested that we should free up disc space etc. but I have plenty of space...

Easy, right click your computer icon go to properties and advanced system settings and then under the advanced tab go to system properties. Once there on the advanced tab under performance, click settings then go to the data execution prevention tab and add the game or program to the exception list. Had no problems after this.

I have to add that this program (in this case, game) wasn't installed (Running it from a previous (also windows 7 ultimate x64) windows installation. However, the program worked fine until a few months ago, and now the only think that happens is that BEX error. And like I said before, I've turned DEP off (by command line) and did a clean system startup: still the same error.
I would also like to point out that I cannot reinstall the program at the moment.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

And I tried to manage DEP exeption , but got windows message:
This program must run with data execution protection (DEP) enabled.
You cannot turn off DEP for this program.
Im not so good with computers, so I would be very happy if someone answer me with a simple solution for begginers

Just needed a little google search and found what couses BEX problems.
For all of you with the same problem , try one thing ( very simple ) I uninstaled ACE MEGA CODEC PACK
and without rebooting, my itunes works perfectly now.
I think that that sould work also for games or any other program.
TRY IT AND respond how that worked for you
