A fast and efficient tool for calculating the volume and actual holding capacity of a cylindrical silo either of a flat bottom design or having a truncated conical discharge hopper with circular outlet.This tool was developed by a consulting engineer and is intended to help a wide audience including bulk materials handling engineers, project engineers, factory operators, students and of course silo, tank and hopper manufacturers.* For volume calculations the app requires the silo diameter, height, outlet diameter (if flat bottomed silo) and cone angle with outlet diameter (for conical outlet silo). All non-dependent fields can be left empty or set with 0 values.* Storage capacity capability can also be calculated by entering the bulk handling properties of the material which will fill the silo and used for storage calculations. The user is required to input known data such as bulk density and the angle of repose for the particular material. Bulk material properties are widely available, but for quick reference some commonly used materials are listed in the help section. It should be noted that the angle of repose of a material is based on the material filling the silo from the top via a central inlet, in most cases for powders this can be set at 45 degrees and for free flowing granular materials 25 degrees should be suitable in most cases. If you are not sure of the angle of repose for the material then set it high, as this will make sure the silo holds what is required.A useful feature for project engineers and silo designers is the ability to set top headspace height (empty void of cylinder above material peak) so that a section of the silo can be left out of the working capacity calculation for times when explosion protection devices and sensors might need fitting in the top of the cylinder, or purely to ensure the silo will hold the desired storage capacity even if the bulk density of the material varies slightly. The material bulk density very often varies depending on product grade, moisture content and other environmental conditions.It should be noted that if using this tool to calculate dead loads for civil engineering purpose then the weight of the silo itself must be added to the storage capacity plus the bulk density of the material is normally increased by 25% for settled materials so having a higher packed density.

Access-IS barcode readers help take the hassle out of silo loading

TMT Solutions has integrated Access-IS LSR116 barcode readers into its specialist TCS Sand application. A solution designed to enable the automated loading of trucks with frac sand from overhead silos.
Designed to tie sales systems to transport and delivery resources, TCS (Total Controls Solutions)
improves facility throughput, accountability and provides numerous metrics to aid in reducing running costs and maintenance.
When an empty truck approaches the TCS "lane", a ticket is printed at the entrance kiosk, this tells the driver which loading lane to go to in order to receive their assigned product. The driver must then scan the barcoded ticket to gain access past the lift gates and onto the silo scales. Once in position, with guidance from a remote operator, the product drops from the silo.
Once loading is complete, the driver leaves the scales and pulls up to an exit kiosk. One final scan of the pick ticket and the driver receives a transaction receipt and is on their way.
The use of TSC Sand with Access-IS barcode scanners remove the requirement for multiple manned transaction points, therefore removing potential bottlenecks and substantial cost overheads from the system.
The LSR116 device that has been integrated by TMT Solutions is designed to read 2D barcodes from smartphones, tablets and paper. Its unique design with a 2D omnidirectional barcode imager ensures read reliability and high-speed performance, capturing and decoding barcodes in less than one second in any orientation.
It has a small-footprint, slot-in design to enable fast, and easy integration into third-party public access kiosks and gates. Furthermore, its rugged, dust and water-resistant construction, with no moving parts, enable it to withstand years of indoor and outdoor public access use.

已在美国亚马逊上发表After 8 months of use, the little hinged lid where the measured material pours out from is unhinged. It will not hinge! It pulls on and off sigh. So it fits into place on the top of the container but does not snap in and out or hinge. I just take it off and on to pour out my powdered milk.I thought this would likely happen. I am taking off a star because it's almost a great product they just needed another few pennies worth of plastic on that hinged lid part..Original review after a week or so of usage:I am using this to dispense 1/2 cup of powdered/dry milk in to my coffee in the morningAfter about a week of usage...Overall, I am happy with it. Pouring 1/2 cup of powdered milk into a measuring cup means wiping up stray powder, plus cleaning a measuring cup and this is a better alternative. For 10 bucks totally worth it!Here are some details...1) Top Lid on top clicks and locks into place well and has a sturdy feel. There is a (looks like) silicone seal ring in it. I am confident that the top lid locks into place and will not pop off when you pour out your 1/2 cup of foodstuffs.2) The small lid that you open just to pour out the half cup feels a little less sturdy and does not click as decisively as the main lid but it does work...I would like a little more click to it. Time will tell if the small pouring lid holds up. The Main lid does not just click into place it has locking levers/tabs that are quite sturdy.3) If you half pour it out, stop and start bringing the container back to an upright vertical angle, the measuring chamber will refill again, So pour decisively!4) The plastic wall which separates the storage part of silo from the measuring/pouring section does come out, easy to clean and feels sturdy.5) I tried the pour with the storage side full and then I tried it with the silo storage side mostly empty. The device works as promised when full or over the height of the gate between the storage and pouring chambers. As the storage part of the container approaches empty you have to turn it horizontal and then back to vertical to get a half-cup into the measuring/pouring chamber...
