开罗公司的老大臼井和之在14岁的初中生时代就有了《游戏发展国》的构想，他在19岁时将其变成现实。
开罗公司的员工一直保持在&9人左右&。
最有名的《游戏发展国》不是开罗的第一款游戏，他们的第一款游戏是1996年PC上的《二手书店》，灵感来自于臼井社长少年时在二手书店蹭漫画看的经历。
开罗君是开罗游戏世界里的量产机器人，总生产量为20000个，这个数字据说是开罗游戏的日本玩家数量，当然现在已经远远超过。
除了大家最熟悉的开罗君之外，开罗家族还有个开罗妹子，名叫莎莉&普林（Sally&Prin），她通常需要特殊解锁后才能出现。关于这个妹纸是开罗君的妹妹还是女友尚无定论，但从她的姓氏Prin与开罗君不同来看，女友的可能性较大。
开罗君的敌人叫歪罗君Wairobot，这是向超级马里奥的敌人瓦里奥致敬。他也和瓦里奥一样穿着紫色衣服。
开罗游戏里最大的土豪是阿拉伯国王阿克巴King&Ackbar，他经常在游戏里进行大笔投资，他的名字来自于《星球大战》里的角色阿克巴上将。
所有开罗游戏里的女秘书都是同一个人，她是开罗游戏里除了开罗君之外出场最多的，扮演过秘书、助理、宇航员助手、经理、大副等各种角色。
